One of the great things about being a multi-billion dollar franchise is that you have a lot more freedom when choosing where to film. Surprisingly enough, this hasn’t stopped our favorite HASBRO bots to always be in and around the United States for most of their production. However, there are still some really cool highlights when it comes to where these films were shot. Here are the best filming locations from the Transformers movies!

LUXOR – EGYPT

I’m a huge fan of exotic locations as well as the history of the human race, so when Revenge of the Fallen took filming to Egypt, I was stoked. I mean, sure, it isn’t very glamorous, you don’t have many luxuries, and if you want so entertainment nearby, you will probably need to find some online slots in South Africa. But Luxor is home to The Valley of the Kings.

Can you imagine traveling down the Nile, listening to the paddles as they hit the water, and you learn about Egypt? For example, did you know that the birth of Cleopatra is closer to the invention of the iPhone, than the construction of the pyramids? That one is on the house.

PETRA – JORDAN

Just across into the Middle East, Jordan is home to Petra. You may recognize Petra as prominently featured in Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. When it comes to historic significance, this is definitely one of the best filming locations from the Transformers movies.

But it’s not only Indy who’s gone to Petra. The location is actually a hotbed for filming desert scenes. When it comes to Transformers, it was once again Revenge of the Fallen that took us there. If nothing else, that film brought us some of the coolest locations in the whole franchise.

TROLLTUNGA – NORWAY

Literally translating to “troll’s tongue”, this rock formation is a Norwegian icon. Leaving aside its super cool name, the view at Trolltunga is breathtaking… literally: the altitude is nuts, and the trek to get there on foot is 10 hours long.

Surely, then, not as easy as going to the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles. However, when it comes to going to the cinemacasino and betting that your shot will look cool, this is a surefire flutter. This is also quite possibly one of the best things about the film in which it’s featured: The Last Knight.

MORE TO COME?

There are actually more cool locations in the franchise, despite a lot of the film’s footage being filmed in the US. Would you like us to cover more? Perhaps another 3 best filming locations? We still haven’t gone to Asia, for instance. And China has played a huge role in Transformers history.

What are your favorite shots from the Bayverse? I know a lot of people hate these films, but for what they are (popcorn fodder), I think they do what they want to do quite well.
