Our Top 3 TRANSFORMERS podcasts

We live in the era of in-demand content, and nothing says “digital era” like podcasts. Basically invented by iTunes over a decade ago, podcasts have evolved from being radio-show-wannabes into their own thing, with both narrative, fiction and non-fiction content being created at very high standards. So, what’s out there for the discerning Transformers fan? Here’s our three favorite Transformers podcasts.

Now, a word of caution: it’s important to note that, because of how easy it is to get a podcast going nowadays, there’s a lot of chuff out there. If you’re able to take some casino offers and bet on a podcast without a recommendation, you might end up with two dudes Skyping and barely making any sense. So, sit back, and instead of wasting your time, listen to these sure-fire options that will make your hair stand on end as if you were on Cybertron. Guaranteed.

WTF @ TFW – The TFW2005 Transformers Podcast

TFW2005 is probably one of the biggest TRANSFORMERS fan sites in the world. Sure, they are technically “competition”, but the truth is, there’s enough out there for everyone, and we actually really like their content. In particular, we love their podcast (currently sitting at over 550 episodes!), which goes in-depth about everything there is to know about the ‘bots. Here’s their podcast description:

WTF @ TFW is a Podcast by Transformers fans from fan site TFW2005.com. Features topics related to everything in the Transformers universe. Includes news round-ups and discussion on the new Transformers movie, Transformers toys, talk and discussion on TFW2005’s 2005 Boards, and more!

TransMissions: Transformers News and Reviews!

The cool thing about TransMissions is that it’s not a spin-off of a site, but rather their website is a spin-off of their podcast. These thoroughbred podcasters are not only funny, but also extremely knowledgeable. Just like us, they deal with everything from movies, to toys and more. Just a word of warning: their content is explicit, so you better be of age to listen! Here’s a description:

TransMissions is about all things Transformers! We discuss everything from the toys (both official and third party) to the comics, movies, and TV series. We also have some great interviews from creators of the Transformers media and toy worlds!

Radio Free Cybertron: The Transformers Podcast

This one is a bit fun, nonetheless because even the title reminds me of Fallout 3 (the fantastic post-apocalyptic game by Bethesda). The truth is, these guys have been around for over two decades, so they definitely know what they are doing. If you want a show with pedigree, look no further. Here’s their description:

Radio Free Cybertron is The Transformers Podcast! The world’s first and best. We’ve been bringing you the latest from around the Transformers world since 1999! Weekly news and reviews on all the Transformers properties in the universe: Titans Return, the Last Knight, Combiner Wars, Robots in Disguise, Transformers games, Transformers Angry Birds, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, Transformers Prime, Rescue Bots, Fall of Cybertron, Transformers Legends, Botcon, IDW Comics, Marvel Comics, conventions, toy reviews, news, interviews and insights. We bring you the news worth talking about and try to bring a smile to your face at the expense of our dignity.

How do you listen to these beauts? Well, simply head on over to the iTunes repository and go from there. There’s also tons of free apps for any operating system imaginable that you can use to download and listen, both in streaming format or on the go. Remember, most podcasts are free, and all of the ones in this list are, so there’s no excuse to not listen!
