 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
That's good - it'll be like the parking at Bristol. £7 for the stay or they do it per day? At least everyone 'll know about it with just discussing it here on the boards.

£7 per day, but that's cheaper than the city centre and a lot more secure!

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
The car park is very big and very secure, if you are coming by car birmingham city centre is only about 15 minutes away. The real beauty of the Hilton is because its not IN the city centre its reall really easy to get to by car, or van, or if you plan on a monumental hall, tractor trailer . But yeh its easy to get too and £7 a day is considerably cheaper than all but the most well hidden (and dodgy) parking in my fair city.

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
Oh dear here comes the double post faux pas, but I was just going to point out with the idea of a pool party, i have a feeling it will remain kid friendly because I for one dont really want to see a none Kid friendly atmosphere happening when half the attendees are stripped down in swimming attire, what people do in thier hotel rooms is thier choice but I would think it best to keep it safe fun and kid friendly. If people cant abide by that its probably best they stay away from the pool anyway.

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
To be honest I'd say book for the whole weekend! There are different activities taking place every day, different guest panels each day, and you can only get into the Friday night and Saturday night programmes with a weekend ticket and to give you an idea of what you will miss, just take a look at our Youtube Channel... Last year alone we had our script reading featuring David Kaye and Gregg Berger in an original Simon Furman story, our Cosplay Competition AND a live video link Q&A Session with Mark Ryan and all of that was exclusive for weekend attendees!
There's a full programme on the website which should give you an idea but even in terms of just buying toys it's difficult to say which day. Some items may sell out on the Saturday, but dealers have been known to drop prices on the Sunday, especially later in the day!

Under 12 weeks. Have the AA crew got any more surprises for us?

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
Is the guest list going to state if guests are there for both days or just one day? Would be great to see Jon Davies-Hunt back who came for sunday few years ago - his art in Titan v1 was amazing. Maybe he'll return if IDW get hime to draw 4th movie comic?

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
Hmm, something I realized, would there be issues at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole with me arriving at 22.00 and thus not likely being able to check in before 22.30? I know some hotels don't allow past certain time, doubt it somewhat for a big hotel like the Hilton, but does anyone know?
Edit: From what I found, it got a 24 hour reception so think it should not matter.

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
Best thing to do is to contact them to let them know that you'll be arriving late just to make sure that your room is secure for you. Most hotels are happy to allow late arrivals as long as they know in advance.

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
I called them and since they have a 24 hour reception, there is no issue with checking in that late.

If you can't get the the convention - how much would it be to get stuff posted after the event.

 Re: Auto Assembly 2012 Q&A
If you don't turn up then you will simply be classed as a no-show and as such, you'll forfeit your goodie bag, pass and everything else. If you can't make it and want everything posted to you then you must notify us before the convention takes place so we can make sure that everything is put aside for you but we would have to work out what the shipping cost is as it would vary depending on where you live and whether there are any random bonus items in your goodie bag adding to the weight of it.
Whatever charge we inform you of will have to be paid in advance of us sending anything out and would have to be done within a certain time limit or again, items would be forfeit.
