What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Got anything in particular that's on your MP3 player or any CDs that you keep playing or favourite tracks that have your attention?
I've been revisiting a lot of my old Joe Satriani CDs over the last few weeks and found that they've really helped my concentration when I'm sitting at the PC writing. Mainly Surfing With The Alien which was the first album of his that I ever heard, but also one of his more recent ones, Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards which is really reminiscent of Surfing in so many ways.

I keep playing the Dark of the Moon album on my MP3 when I go to walk the dog, usually repeating the song Awake and Alive by Skillet (Track 10)

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Whilst I was off on my holidays I was listening to a lot of the Sarah Mclachlan from my collection - notably "Uphill Battle", "Touch" and "Vox" which are great tracks to get lost in while watching the countryside roll by.
Now that I am back at work it has mostly been Yokko Kanno stuff, leaning towards "After, in the Dark", "Torch Song", "Santi-U" from Macross Plus and "Get 9", "Run rabbit junk" and "Rise" from "Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex". I use the latter as "entrance music" inasmuch as I always play it on arrival to the office to kick my brain into gear (really not a morning person....)

Whilst I am not actually listening to anything right now, for some reason I have The Hut on Fowl's Legs (Baba-Yaga) from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition running roughshod through my head.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Right now I'm listening to Ayreon. I only have a few bands in my playlist, but usually all albums of those. There's also Pink Floyd, Blind Guardian, Marillion/Fish, Mary Black, Linkin Park, Scorpions and Rapalje.
If Ayreon and Rapalje are names unfamiliar to some peeps, it's probably because they're Dutch bands. (Fish once participated in an Ayreon album though.) Rapalje specialises in folk/traditional music. It's a local band made big (they play at pretty much every medieval/fantasy event in the country).
Blind Guardian is a German band, which makes tracking down their albums rather tricky...

My love of Metallica meant I bought the Lou Reed collaboration entitled Lulu.
Ugh.
They test me so.

My Metallica tattoos tell me I should listen to that. You tell me I shouldn't. So far Turnbull is winning.

Don't it's bloody awful, or if you must go to the website you can stream the tracks from there.

I'm currently on a Pitchshifter/Linkin Park kick. Just picked up LP's Minutes To Midnight, so now I want to hear their better stuff again.

Listening to Deus Ex Machinae at the moment by Machinae Supremacy. The CD has been out of production for a few years and I've been struggling to find a copy of ebay, and the band has just made it available from their website as a free download. I'm one very happy head-banging bunny right now!

Beyond Magnetic from Metallica.
4 songs that they didn't put on Death Magnetic. Made me happy and made the pain of that Lulu thing go away.

Evangelion Symphony is pleasing me now. Even with the skits from the Japanese voice cast that I don't understand.

I currently have Humbling River on repeat. Lovely song and it gives such a lovely mood to the Fall of Cybertron trailer!
