Post CT-Alpha Submission Guidelines
So you want to pitch material to CT-Alpha. Well, here's a few guidelines to help make it easy to do that.

COPYRIGHT

All work will remain the copyright of the individual creator. However, we do request that any material you submit to us not be published in it's entirety elsewhere for 6 months from the publication of the relevant issue of CT-Alpha. Naturally previews and excerpts are fine, after all the more people who know you have done something the more will want to read.

COMPLIMENTARY COPY

CT-Alpha at this moment is a digital-only magazine. Should any of your work be featured in any issue you would be entitled to that issue for free. If you are an existing subscriber than you would get a refund for that issue.

ARTISTS

By that I mean pencillers, inkers, letterers and colour artists. So if you are interested in contributing then please send links to samples of your current work to andy@ct-alpha.com or no more than 3 72dpi jpg images via email to the same address.

The page size for CT-Alpha is 17cm wide by 25.5 cm long.

Please state whether you are interested in providing spot-illustrations or want to contribute comic strip art. As we are looking for both. If you want to do strip work please email or link to samples so we can match you up to the best suited project.

For C-T Alpha we will require finished artwork to be 300dpi in resolution, as while the magazine is digital at the moment, there may be scope for print collections at a future dat

FICTION

Please note that CT-Alpha will be an all-ages publication – so submissions with profanity will not be accepted. We want adult stories in the true sense of the word, intelligent and challenging. Not filled with unnecessary crude language.

CONTINUITY

It's everyone's favourite arguing point for Transformers. So let's get it out of the way quickly. We welcome stories from any continuities, be it the Marvel Comics, Dreamwave comics, Sunbow cartoons all the way through to the Ladybird books. This magazine should have material to appeal to everyone's tastes.

So do you want to write a story or a script?

Well send a premise and synopsis of your tale to the following email addresses ralph@ct-alpha & andy@ct-alpha.com and we will get back to you.

MULTI-PART TALES

Will we do multi-part stories? Yes we will. With the caveat that until all the parts are completed we will not start publishing the stories.

FACTUAL

We are also looking for good factual material. Be it in-depth reviews/critiques or interesting articles. If this sounds up your alley then please send a premise of your article/feature to either karl@ct-alpha.com or andy@ct-alpha.com and we will contact you.

Did I send the outline for that Beast Wars story to you? If not let me know and I'll email it over to you. Time for me to get back to the keyboard and try to finish it off, or maybe even try to turn it into script format for a strip!

Are there any plans to have prose stories illustrated? Because I'd love to provide illustrations for stories, more so than just doing pin-ups.

Yes. There are indeed. As a lover of the old style UK annuals, every text story should have an illustration or two!

I'll send you what I can dig out - can't remember if it's in outline or WiP format but I'll get it to you in a few minutes!

I am going to make it my mission in life to one day summon the guts to enter a mosaic. This will be quite challenging given that I cannot write, draw or colour. But I am going to do it because I am a man, with occasional facial hair, and because that's what men do.

You should see the story I'm working on for CT Alpha at the moment! It's only in outline form at the moment but it's a little... errrm... different!

It's my intention to get something polished and written up to submit to you guys. Just gotta clear some of the other stuff on my work pile right now.

Any particular page count / limit for comics submissions you guys have in mind?

It depends on the story, but around 8 pages would probably be the best.
