What are you playing right now?
Just wondering what's taking up your gaming time at the moment? whether it's online, console, or computer, modern or retro... share with everyone!
For me right now it's a pretty varied mix. For some strange reason, I'm hooked on The Sims Social on Facebook. Not quite as complicated as the original PC version naturally, but surprisingly good for a FB game.
On the PS3 I'm getting into Guitar Hero Metallica, Split Second, Marvel Pinball and an old game I downloaded from PSN - VectorTD.
Over on the PSP and the main ones at the moment are Vector TD again, Final Fantasy, Pinball Dreams, and Pinball Fantasies.

Playing some mild Dissidia 012, but I'm mostly getting distracted by other things... Still have to finish Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Okamiden.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Currently between playthroughs of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I have done my "explore the story playthrough" and quite enjoyed it. This weekend I shall start my "perfect my approach" playthrough - I am going back to apply what I have learned about the various cybernetic augmentations you can get in the game, the combat engine, and the way stealth is coded to do an even stealthier "hacker/ghost" run through the game - aiming for a better balance of the "unseen force" approach and the sudden ambush when combat is unavoidable. I am looking forward to redoing the Shanghai levels again now I have realised how much you can get about those levels by means of the roof-tops and the leaping enhancements (if it is anywhere that the game shows its debt to Ghost in the Shell it is when you are puzzling about the best way to get by a roadblock and you realise that instead of cloaking to sneak by the sentry you could have used the leaping enhancment and a nearby dumpster as a springboard for a three point jump onto the adjacent roof. (Of course some people will have played that bit and shot their way past the hostile sentry, but in those sorts of games I often try to keep the avoidable violence to a minimum).

Re: What are you playing right now?
Don't ask why, but I'm getting into Talisman Of Death on the PSP right now, the adaptation of the old Fighting Fantasy game book. They've done a fairly good job of converting it across to the PSP and I can't wait to see the improvements they've made to Warlock Of Firetop Mountain.
I've got back into collecting the books after picking one up a couple of months ago so it's pretty cool revisiting my youth again... saying that, I never got the games originally when they came out in the 80s!

Re: What are you playing right now?
I've managed to finish both Okamiden and Ocarina of Time, so now I'm playing some more Final Fantasy VII. Still the best game evah! Although all I'm doing is grinding and upping my stats - wanna see if I can max out all of Vincent's stats for no particular reason whatsoever...

Re: What are you playing right now?
Downloaded and started playing DC Universe Online for the PS3. Really getting into it but the download took bloody ages! Started it around 4:00 pm in the afternoon and it didn't finish until just before 1:00 am...!
That wouldn't have been so bad if it was downloading in the background, but it only downloaded a small file to start with which was the set-up program, then it took over the PS3 for the next 9 hours while it downloaded and installed the game so I couldn't do anything else with the damn thing!
Well worth it though!

Re: What are you playing right now?
At the moment I am alternating between my second playthrough of Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Kusanagi-san would be proud of me, it is turning out to be half stealthy, wraith-like non-lethal takedowns and unobserved hacking and half epic gunplay and unlikely leaping-running-to-punch-enemies-unconcious when I make a mistake and get spotted. I have acccidentally almost exactly replicated her modus-operandi) and Batman:Arkham City. The latter is a masterclass in how to do a superhero game. It makes you feel mortal, and yet gives you the tools to feel that as long as you are smart and think things through you are fully in charge of the situation - basically what a Batman Simulator should make you feel. My only real gripe with the game is that the Zazz side mission feels like it is taking up far too much time every time it pops up - he is strictly a c-list part of the rogues gallery and doesn't really warrant (in my opinion) more than the time it takes to dismiss him as a nineties abberation and move on. On the other hand, he has a hostage and I am Batman - which motivates me to push through it and deal with him. That is interesting actually - in another game I might just have avoided triggering the side mission at all, but in this case I feel I need to live up to Batman's shoes and do what has to be done to save the endangered innocents..... Shows how powerfully ingrained the character is with me I guess.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Just started playing Final Fantasy IX on the Playstation which I've never actually played before so I'm quite looking forward to that. The only thing I'm not too impressed with so far is the annoying save game feature which is the same as all of the other games in the series having to wait until you find a save point. It makes it frustrating when you're playing the game later in the day as you're potentially stuck for hours playing before you can save. I was playing last night and ended up having to keep the PS3 on until around 2:00 am because I couldn't save the damn thing!
Also starting to play Warlock Of Firetop Mountain on the PSP so I've got plenty to keep me going for a bit! lol

Re: What are you playing right now?
I'm enjoying it so far but the story doesn't seem to be as strong as Final Fantasy VII and definitely not as powerful emotionally but maybe that will develop more after a few more hours playing.
Technically it's absolutely breathtaking compared to VII and VIII though and really shows off what the Playstation was capable of doing with the right programmers using it.

Re: What are you playing right now?
I think you'd be hard-pressed to find any game as intricate (storywise) and engaging as Final Fantasy VII. IX is just a nice, cute story. Nothing world-shattering, just... nice.
And I love the cuddly character designs, cuter than the usually somewhat more realistic designs of the other games.

Re: What are you playing right now?
Not been playing much for the last week or two although I have been putting a little bit of time into Daytona USA on the PS3. At the moment I'm in a bit of an odd mood gaming wise and I think I need a bit of inspiration to get me back into the swing of things to start playing again.
I lost interest in Final Fantasy XIII although I do want to go back to that again at some point to try to finish it off, but it fell foul of the same old problem I had with all of the other games in the series - I hit a point where (or at least that's what I felt) none of my characters were strong enough to survive one of the boss battles so after dying what felt like 101 times, the game has ended up sitting on a shelf gathering dust.
As much as it's getting a bit boring at the moment, I'm spending a lot of time wandering around deliberately waiting for battles in FFVI just to progress through the levels so I've got a better chance later on in the game!

Re: What are you playing right now?
I usually tend to wander around enjoying the scenery so much I rise in level quickly without noticing in Final Fantasy games. That said, grinding in FFXIII is frustrating business (because the game is pretty linear and when you've finished the main storyline, leveling up more so you can do the sidequests takes so much time it's not even funny anymore!).
