We’re entering another busy period here at Auto Assembly HQ. Things have been frantic here over the last month or so since the announcement of our first ever convention exclusive toy. Since then, we have seen an unprecendented surge in bookings, the likes of which we don’t normally see until our “last minute” rush that we get in the last few weeks before the convention. However this has placed an immense strain on our bookings system so we are currently playing “catch up” trying to process all of these (which we do manually to ensure there are no errors at the time of booking and to make sure that people have ordered tickets correct and purchased the appropriate type of ticket).
As an event run on a non-profit making basis and in our spare time, this does take time but we are working through these as quickly as we can. If you have not yet received your booking confirmation please bear with us and you should receive it by the end of the week. After this point we will then commence processing all of the orders for our exclusive toy, Robot Manuel X. For all of you who have ordered the toy, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to collect your toy at the convention. If you have NOT ordered a toy yet, please do NOT contact us asking about ordering one or chasing up your confirmation email so you can order a toy as we still have plenty left to be able to supply one to everyone who has currently registered for Auto Assembly 2013.
We are also aware that some of you have been having issues booking accommodation at the Hilton this year. We are in contact with the hotel at the moment attempting to resolve all of these issues which we hope to have sorted out by the end of today. One thing we would urge all of you to do is to book your hotel rooms as soon as possible using the link in your confirmation email. While the Hilton is a large hotel, we do not have exclusive use of the hotel and we can not guarantee that other rooms in the hotel will be booked by non-convention guests so please try to book your rooms as soon as possible. Please note that payment is NOT required in advance of your arrival at the convention.
For those of you who do experience issues with your booking, we will be emailing all our attendees later this week with an update so please check for an email update from us regarding this and other convention news rather than emailing us about specific hotel issues as this will allow us to deal with bookings and toy orders more rapidly this week. This will make sorting out the hotel accommodation easier for us to handle in bulk than answer emails individually.
Please note, if you have ANY enquiries about outstanding booking confirmations or about placing toy orders please do NOT contact any of the Auto Assembly team this week. If you haven’t heard anything from us by the end of this week, then please let us know and we will get back to you. Toy confirmation orders may take slightly longer to send out depending on when you place the order as we do have a significant number of these to process as well once all confirmation emails are sent.
It is going to be an exciting few weeks for us here at Auto Assembly though… we have more guests to announce, another surprise item on the way, more details coming about this year’s goodie bag, details of this year’s competitions and much more besides – it’s going to be a blast!
